Switch Your Thinking

In any business, there's a certain amount of comfort and security in doing the same old things the same old ways.  But in the construction industry over the past few years, "business as usual" has been anything but.

NECA contractors and their IBEW craftsmen and women have had to change and grow.  They've had to switch their thinking from traditional construction to allow for a mixture of retrofits and new builds.

One example is in Idaho Falls, where Wheeler Electric and IBEW Local 449 teamed up with the city to conduct a series of energy audits which identified ways local businesses could save money, save energy and get a rebate check for installing energy efficient lighting.

This story focuses on Idaho School District 91's participation in the "Switch Your Thinking Program" through the help of the NECA-IBEW team.
